My Bag Got Snatched

I thought Japan is the safest place i've ever been. But now, i change my mind :P Because wherever you go, bad things maybe happen but i thank God it wasn't that bad because i still alive now.

Last Sunday, i went to Sunday service at Church that BF usually goes. In the afternoon, we went to Ginza for watching Time and have our dinner too. So it was 8.15 when i left Ginza and heading  Home. I'm totally tired and sleepy, so i slept along my way in the train.

I reach the nearest station at 8.59PM, went to buy some french bread for my breakfast and put it on between my bag's handle. I brought small bag so i can't put it inside so i just bring it that way.

It takes 10min from station to my place. Usually some parts of the street are too dim or maybe without light, specially when you walk around housing area. Nothing different on that day, except the corner before my apartment is unusually too dark because the house didn't turn on lights [maybe they still not coming home yet].

I always alarmed when there is bicycle rider or people walk behind me, because i did have bad experience with "bad people" when i walk alone in Indonesia. So i have natural gesture to look back or stepping aside if i heard some sound. And that day, before 2 bicycle riders passing by me, i already knew. But when i was only 3metre across my apartment building (actually it was the darkest part of the street) my bag got snatched(only in one grab!!)....

And still(for me) it as unbelievable because it happen in JAPAN!!

Police gave this temporary X mark.

I was shocked and the next thing that i can remember was i chased this bicycle rider as fast as i can and also screaming. But it was useless because the thief is too fast & no one there. So i gave up and running back to find nearest police box and try to dialing Bf number[my mobile phone was in my jacket's pocket]. But thank God i met another man that help me to call 110 and talk to the police because i was too shocked & didn't know what to say.

Long short story, police came and give me some help. They took me to the police office, help me to cancel all the card, took some or maybe lots picture of me? [i don't like this part :(] After that, i don't know where to go since i don't have money and it was already late of night. Even if Bf & another friend came to pick me, we can't go anywhere because train service will stop soon.

The police ask me to call my employer. I tried to call one person who is in my phone book and he didn't give any positive suggestion :( so i gave up but not too long, my friend sent me a number that refer to someone[let call him as my manager because i don't know how to explained Japanese title]. I tried to dial his number 3 times and he rejected. But the police keep asked me to try. And finally he picked up the phone and the police talk to him. He said he'll pick me in the police station. Well, I was surprised and the police said something like : You have a great boss!! He'll give you place to stay tonight.

But i CAN'T!!!... I just can't stay over night at stranger house though i know this man. He said that he can take the key from the office and give it to me, but it's not safe to stay in my room since the thief has my ID card & key. Well, in Japan we can easily search address by using google map.

So i called my friend, because she already asked her soon to be sister in law who live near my place for accomodating me that night. Then refused to stay at my manager place & asked him to drove me until the mansion, near the station and then he left me there. Fiuh~

I thank God i have place to stay that night, their borrowed me some money too. And the next day i went to the office to pick up my key, renew all of my documents and also change my room key.

Actually, i only have 5K inside my wallet on that day. So i didn't upset~ He even can't use my card, besides that my bag and wallet aren't branded one.

But i feel lil bit sad because he took my First Bible w/ some words from my best friend, and also some pictures with memory inside of my wallet. Anyway, the funny part is, this guy is expert!! he didn't drop my french bread at all :P And he got a Super Bonus if he likes "pempek" and my new red lipstick too. I think i have a bad relationship with red lipstick :P

One of my nail was broken but it's okay :) After heard some same story, i can say how lucky i am, because this guy might hit me from my back and leave me on the street if he want. But he only took my bag, so i think it was not a big deal.

So, be careful when you walk alone girls...

Updated[22/02] : The policeman called me last night. They found my key. I don't know if that will come with my bag too, because how can he knew that's mine because he said that my wallet is not found yet. And I said i don't need it anymore but he forced to give it back and i have too, because there is some document that need to be declared. After long arguing on phone, we deal to meet on koban(small police station) near my place on Saturday 7AM(isn't that too early?) because i don't want to go there or another koban after work hours(the street is too dark around that place). I just curious why this man asked lots of personal things. Of course i refused to answer him because he called me from mobile phone. So i asked him to call his Office and stop asking me. I hope everything will be okay & stop thinking about what might be happen like in CSI movies :P
Maybe i need to call him today and tell them to waste the pempek or it will become so smelly :P

Untung aja temen-temenmu ga diapa-apain. Aku paling serem kalo dicekokin minuman trus dimacem2in itu loh *duh* ga kebayang deh...

    1. Hahaha.. soalnya gimana mau ngasih duit wong abis kecopetan tak punya harta benda lagi =))
Tapi mereka emang baek, mgkn karena kurang kerjaan kali ya jarang ada penjahat malah sibuk ngurusin copet sebiji begini waakakaka.
